2023 Maui Fires

The 2023 Hawaii wildfires were a series of wildfires that broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii in August 2023, predominantly on the island of Maui. The wind-driven fires prompted evacuations, caused widespread damage, killing at least 99 people and leaving six persons missing in the town of Lahaina on Maui's northwest coast. At this time please avoid visiting the town and surrounding areas of Lahaina as these areas are off limits to visitors. Kaanapali and the rest of Maui is welcome to visitors but please heed the recommendations of local officials when visiting.
